These old rusty cans are part of a display on main street in this little town in Douglas County.
The city was incorporated in 1889, and Washington State joined the union shortly thereafter. It's a wheat-farming community, and was named Waterville due to substantial wells being found, unlike the upper Okanogan which proved arid. Due to prairie fires, the local people used brick. Some of these old structures still stand, in perfect condition, as if they'd just been built.
