Potato Pyrohis in Root Soup

These little potato dumplings are flavored with parmesan and boiled in water before they are added to the soup. Fortunately, I'm still pulling rutabagas, parsnips, and turnips from the garden! Unfortunately, this is the last photo my camera took before it died last week! I surely will miss that camera, an old Sony, irreplaceable.

I'll be having surgery in a week and have been cooking and freezing meals to tide us over during my recovery - six weeks, during which time George will tend to the needs of the garden.
