I just put all this greenery together in a pot - cedar fronds, huckleberry leaves, salal, and lichen...from our hike yesterday. It smells heavenly.

I'll have to venture down into the forest tomorrow and see what I can pick. Nothing will look as fresh as the bouquet you have pictured here. But in it's own way, I'm sure my winter bouquet will have a fragrance that will lift my spirits!
The other day while I was walking in the pasture, I put my gloved hand around some field weeds and pulled up all kinds of little burrs. They seemed to migrate everywhere---to my pants, jacket, sorrells. Not wanting them to cling to everything in the house, I immediately had to delouse all my clothes.

Very pretty. We have a lot of shades of green but it will be another month or so before I have any color from flowers.
